Ornamental Leaf Project – Sustainable Livelihood Support for Rural Families
1. Objective
The Ornamental Leaf Project aims to sustainably support and empower rural households — especially low-income and women-led families — to achieve stable and improved livelihoods. Through this initiative, OKF helps participants cultivate decorative foliage with strong market potential, while ensuring technical training, continuous guidance, and secure access to buyers.
This project goes beyond agricultural production — it builds self-reliance, strengthens rural resilience, and connects small producers directly to market demand. OKF remains committed to helping every participating household receive full technical support, mentorship, and marketing assistance to ensure long-term sustainability and success.
2. Key Results
- 35 poor and near-poor households have been selected to participate in the project.
- Over 70% of the participating families have successfully cultivated and sold ornamental leaves on the market.
- One seedling nursery has been established to ensure sustainable propagation and expansion.
- Farmers have improved their technical knowledge, learned about market trends, and enhanced their awareness of product quality.
- Technical staff at the commune level have acquired the necessary skills to guide other households joining the program.
- The model has proven effective and scalable — other communes are now studying and preparing to replicate it.
“The Ornamental Leaf Project transforms livelihoods by connecting people, nature, and opportunity — one leaf at a time.”
